Health benefits of gotu kola juice

Gotu cola was probably first used in Indian as part of Ayurveda the traditional herbal medicine. Botanical name for Gotu kola is Centella asiatica. It is the famous ayurvedic tonic herbs for nerves and brain tissue. A cup of gotu kola tea has mildly narcotic properties that quiet and soothe the nerves.

It is believed to increase memory and intelligence, reducing the effects of aging. Gotu kola improves blood circulation which can help the body to cope in stressful situations. It promotes mental calmness and assists in the practice of yoga or mediation.

It was traditionally used to promote longevity as a blood cleanser and a diuretic.

Juice of the plant, about 4 teaspoon six times a day, should be given to treat fever and indigestion. It is also efficacious in jaundice. This juice, mixed with cow’s milk, is given for acidity. It is also used to treat various illnesses when blood is coughed up.

Leaves are diuretic and tonic. Their juice is considered a purifier of the blood, and appetite inducer, and also helpful in improving memory. The juice is taken with water for refreshment and is considered useful in treating inflammation of the urinary tract.

Juice gotu cola with other vegetables, such as celery add the leaves or salads and other dishes for daily use, or make teas or tinctures from the leaves or whole plant.
