Pineapple Juice

The pineapple tree belongs to the Bromeliaceae family and is a commercially important fruit that represents a major export product for many tropical counties. Pineapple can be processed into several products such as canned pineapple slice, pineapple pulp, dried pineapple, pasteurized pineapple juice, and concentrate.

Pineapple (Ananas comosus) has long been one of the most popular of the non-citrus tropical and subtropical fruits. This is due to its attractive flavor and refreshing sugar-acid balance. Pineapple juice is largely consumed around the world and it is a popular product due to its pleasant aroma, flavor, and numerous functional properties.

Pineapple juice is considered as a functional drink due to its health-promoting properties and has anti-inflammatory, anti-atherosclerotic, antiaging, and many other healing properties. It contains a collection of minerals, especially manganese, as well as various sugars, vitamins, and polyphenols.

Pineapple juice also known to have important free amino acids including asparagine, proline, aspartic acid, serine, glutamic acid, tyrosine, valine, and isoleucine.
